Advocacy Alert: Child Care Facilities Week of Action
Ask Congress to Enact President Biden’s $25 Billion Investment in the Physical Infrastructure of Child Care
Now is a critical moment to elevate our collective voices in support of dedicated federal funding for child care facilities.
Congress is working quickly to draft the text of its $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation package. House committees are expected to begin marking up budget reconciliation bills the week of September 7. It is critical that resources for child care facilities be explicitly included in this phase of the process. Although President Biden has proposed a $25 billion investment in early learning facilities, it remains to be seen if Congress will include these resources in budget reconciliation. NCFN urges stakeholders to join us in federal advocacy over the coming two weeks to ensure child care facilities are not left behind.
Upcoming Advocacy Dates
August 30 - September 3
As congressional committees write their budget reconciliation bills the week of August 30, stakeholders can take two advocacy steps:
Send a letter to your elected officials asking them to prioritize $25 billion for early learning facilities in budget reconciliation; and
Join NCFN on social media to elevate the importance of dedicated federal funding for child care facilities.
September 7-9
Following Labor Day, lawmakers will be putting the final touches on their bills before beginning mark-ups. Advocates should continue to raise their voices—both on social media and directly with elected officials—from September 7-9.
